I just looked it up.
It appears on screen when an app is using your microphone or camera.
Id go through your apps and disable camera and micophone options where you can....and also check to see if ypur Bluetooth is on.
Its not beyond someone's cabaility to access your phone via it.
Seems fucking sus to me.

@OogieBoogie yeah I know. I've been noticing it and just remembered to ask about this now. I will go through them now. Thanks Oogs.

After a bit of a quick read, the shazam app keeps the micophone turned on as it makes the app respond quicker when needed.
You can turn the mic access off to it manually , but will need to manually tirn it back on so it can access recording the tune you want it to identify
They 'say' it isnt a security issue ....but this was jjst a quick search .@GunFinger

@OogieBoogie yup read that too. I changed my setting to "always ask" or something like that. Thank you.

@GunFinger itd creep me out too.
You never know these days.
Ive had my phone hacked into before by a stalky person , and it was awful. They screwed around with my settings, kept turning stuff off on me etc. Got into my messages, photos and shit .
It made me get a whole new phone, new number and new provider.

@OogieBoogie You have to opt out of a lot of things on most Android phones ,including Samsung,if you want privacy try GrapheneOS mostly on Pixel phones, though it may be a bit pricey rn

@OogieBoogie I have no idea. I have an OLD landline that I have to repeatedly dial to reach a comatose operator on the other end. Calls herself "Ernestine"
