No, the stereotype is definitely not accurate, not entirely anyway, but I know for a lot of people ‘like me’ it is and never ‘entirely’. Even though stereotypes aren’t entirely without merit, I personally try to get to know the individual. Stereotypes are just typical outcomes for various sociological/psychological factors happening behind the scenes, but they shouldn’t be dumped on a person to disprove.

Because societal mechanisms train us to stereotype people from an early age. Even if we try not to , we do it impulsively.

We can overide it. But everyone makes impressions of things, people, events, even phrases within seconds of seeing, hearing or experiencing it/them.

Nearly everyone fits a stereotype to a degree, as they are simplisitic representations. I mean, how many flowers are out there? They are all flowers, but then there are types of flowers, and then there are each individual flower.

Sterotypes are merely first impressions.
And we cant help but make those, we do it involuntarily.

The stereotype about me is (generally) true.
The only people I generally apply a stereotype too are 'travellers', whenever I've met them they never disappoint.

Then I take they have a very narrow mind. Nothing I can do about that and I certainly do not want to be like them. So I just dismiss it totally.

I don't think I have a stereotype. Then again, we usually wouldn't know others thoughts unless they tell us.
