how can i help someone i know is homeless?

i know someone thats homeless, shes sleeping outside one of the churches here, she had her birthcertificate stolen and id, she did get another birthcertificate, just wondered if she sleeps outside a church why cant they let her in instead of making her sleep outside and getting frostbitten, i cant take her in to my place cause im in an apt and they'll just kick both of us out. why dont people at church act like christians and take her in? she dont like the shelters, guess she has a hard time with the people there,so why are people not taking her in? i think thats mean.

they aren’t going to let someone sleep inside of a church unsupervised. Too much can happen….churches are often burglarized but the main issue is probably one of a liability if something were to happen. There is probably more to the story than people are mean to her at the shelter, other people are staying there. They have to have rules that the people abide by and some don’t want to do that.

First of all you have to get an honest answer to this very very important question. "Are you stuck or do you want to be there". Most often you will find the answer to be "I want to be here". If that is the case there is not much you can do about it. If it is not the case then you find a way to help. Don't blame the church.

@pearllederman well first i would help her get a new ID they are not that expensive. Get her a tent at least she would be out of the weather. Help her to get a job. Save up a little and get her a apartment

It's never a good idea to let a stranger into your house. There have been several cases on the news where they were assaulted or killed by people they were trying to help.

You can take her in a night here and there, I know apt managers wont allow her to move in with you. Help her out any way you can. Even a few dollars may help.

The biggest part of this problem is the damn greedy churches. They should be feeding, clothing, and housing the poor. The Catholics are the worst.
