What actions makes a man appear cowardly?

@HootyTheNightOwl I kind of went through that but it was my doing because I naturally push people away when I'm hurting. He didn't want to be friends with a few friends I did make though... It's hard to accept he never loved me, that's the hardest thing.

They say to turn to family and friends - but I have no friends... and my family is enabling the abuse.

@HootyTheNightOwl I'm so sorry you're going through it too. I've always found it strange the way people preach supporting others, but they all silently back away when their feet need to get moving. At least there's a place like this for people to connect ❤️ I know it's not easy but chat anytime.

@S33K3R People say "Get out" - like it's that easy. The choice the police gave me was to go to my sister's and get sent back or to go to a refuge in the town where he spent the first 18 years of his life... and where both he and I are well enough known that I don't feel safe with being there.

@HootyTheNightOwl you're very right. Especially if you have kids. I stayed in this relationship past it's expiration for at least 3 years to save up to move on. Some people don't have the extra income or the time to do that.
