No dinosaurs were harmed during the production of this film!

And so, my critique of Jurassic World: Dominion? I feel like it ends the series nicely. Sam Neil says that the series was never about the dinosaurs, but about the people. I disagree. It was always about the dinosaurs. If it was about the people, then none of the films would have succeeded because their story was just too weak. And also dinosaurs rule, and I'm glad they're back, even if it's in a fantasy world, to goose my imagination!

Its just one cashgrab after another now. The era of storytelling in big budget movies seems over, it's just the same bwhuaaaauuhmmmm trailer plot over and over. I expect the movie industry to get more and more pornified next because that will be the lowest common denominator to titillate the masses

@plungesponge Hollywood is definitely running out of original ideas, that's for sure. And it's sad that it all has to be about the money, as opposed to getting off a good story and impressing the hell out of people.

@SpaceJesus it seems to me a big issue is how many decisions need to get made by a committee. I'm sure back in speilbergs time, he had a vision of what he wanted on the screen and how it fit the narrative, and brought in experts to make it a reality. Nowadays a script writer has to get their ideas past a commitee that is going to check whether the plot ticks a bunch of boxes based on audience surveys, then they film some scaled down version that gets edited by test screen feedback, then a bunch of investors check in every hour to see if every decision is oriented towards IP ownership and merchandising

@SpaceJesus you might get a kick out of this. It describes how some of the best actors of the last century are basically churning out lazy garbage content purely for tax purposes now
