I woke up from a dream where someone was trying to break into my house. He knew I was home, but he was still kicking the door and trying to break it.
It made me wonder if this is why Americans keep firearms at home. 🤔

@GeniUs You have a point. I don't think buying a firearm is the right answer to this. The government must handle this issue. Not people. Do they really expect people to arm themselves for their defense, and in the end, whoever is luckier or aims better survives? Is that a jungle or what?

@LookingForTheSummer don't get me wrong, if I'm at home and I hear an intruder in the house I'll still pick up my favourite vegetable knife to defend myself because to be honest the police don't seem to catch anybody any more and the legal system let's them off if they do.

It's literally just trauma I think. When people have tried to kill you multiple times, you fear the moment somebody catches you off guard.

@LookingForTheSummer tbh I love my guns.. but yeah I wish I didn't have to feel unsafe without one. I wish all people in the US didn't have to feel unsafe without one.
I have a friend who got shot just going shopping in a grocery store months ago. She survived luckily but she's a mom who just had another baby, out shopping for her family. She didn't deserve that bullet. Who tf expects to get shot going grocery shopping?

@ChiefWalksWith40oz That really sucks. Nobody deserves to live in an environment where they can potentially get shot out of nowhere at any time.

I had a similar dream when I was in grade 1. A pair of gloved hands just shooting through the window of our house knowing we're inside. I'm scared and think about saving my family but like a coward I duck under the table to save myself..... Even then I thought the scary part was me being a coward.

@REMsleep I love firearms, especially old ones. I also love shooting for fun. However, I don't understand why citizens must be armed to defend themselves. We pay taxes to the governments and it's their job to create a safe environment for us to live in. USA's situation is quite unique, and not in a good way, unfortunately.
