Will you stay together for the kids?

Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
I didn’t, ya we struggled, I went without a lot so they had what they needed and wanted but we were happier than being in an angry, toxic environment.
popmol · 22-25, M
@Jeephikelove thats true! it can have more benifits as toxic areas make a person crumble
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
I didn’t with my ex. He was too selfish and not wanting to carry his responsibilities and our daughter was about to start kindergarten and I couldn’t even see her at school with him coming for a teacher’s conference etc. He was too self-centered and seemed to be getting more immature as he aged. Some people should never get married, they can’t keep their end of the bargain.
popmol · 22-25, M
@cherokeepatti well he is obviously bad and didn't want to stay together, if you do that it means you take your responsibilities!
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@popmol He’s never found anyone else and that means something. He had a couple girlfriends but they got wise and left him pretty quick.

Hell, I want the KIDS to stay together for ME!!
popmol · 22-25, M
@ImpeccablyImperfect are they splitting apart?
ImpeccablyImperfect · 51-55, F
@popmol Yes. They are. And it's terrible, nasty and so dirty right now, I can't stand it
popmol · 22-25, M
@ImpeccablyImperfect tell them they get no will if it goes on like this! if emotion doesn't work maybe monetary does?
Beautywithin · 36-40, F
No, kids are not stupid they pick up on things.
popmol · 22-25, M
@Beautywithin sure but its not for the kids sanity, but of all the other nonsense of splitting up
Beautywithin · 36-40, F
@popmol But thats life, whether you are together or not it shouldn't interfer with being a good parent but kids they often get used as a weapon. Now that is not on.
popmol · 22-25, M
@Beautywithin well at least you'll have equal control over the weapon instead of aweek of manipulation at one house and a week at the other but yeah you're right!
popmol · 22-25, M
@GunFinger what a nice gun finger!
JamesBugman · 56-60, T
We are together for the kids. I sleep in the spare room downstairs. It costs a lot to separate, and the kids suffer.
popmol · 22-25, M
@JamesBugman it takes a lot!

@thinkingoutloud how lovely!
@popmol as long as there is an amicable balance between him and I and it is not toxic, other things can hold less importance for me.
No
Kids aren't stupid ....they feel EVERYTHING that's going on, even if you want to believe you shelter them from it.
It hurts them, it makes them angry and depressed and they can take on guilt that isn't theirs.
All they see is dysfunctional people teaching them dysfunctional ways.

I work at a high school, Ive heard many kids stories of home - they always know EXACTLY what's going on between parents . They see it, they feel it ....and resilient as they are, it hurts them too.
popmol · 22-25, M
@OogieBoogie ooh i'm not syaing they don't but i'm also talking about a functional family thats split up not a disfunctional mess those don't work!
Justenjoyit · 56-60, M
People can argue this both ways, but my parents divorced when I was 7 years old, after that me and my older sister of two years ended up with a resentful mother and a bastard of a step father, it made me stronger and the person I am today, but it ruined my sister.
popmol · 22-25, M
@Justenjoyit i'm sorry to hear ;(
