Tell me about something really small or silly that you did or made or achieved that you are actually quite pleased about.

Sometimes we do something seemingly unimportant and we are really happy or proud of it but we feel like we cant brag about it cuz its silly or whatever. Well, tell me about yours

Yesterday I drove into the city through heavy traffic and in rush hour. There's nothing that scares the crap out of me more but I did it!! It's probably stupid to a lot of people but I'm still super pleased with myself.
@SW-User Nope, good steps to take. Good for you!

@TallMtnMedic Thanks. x

@SW-User It is not stupid at all to face up to something that you are afraid to do but need to do, and then to do it! And it certainly is not stupid to feel good about it afterwards.

I’m a good shot !
Ontheroad · M
@TexChik that's some serious good shooting! Here is the picture I neglected to add before. Not nearly as good as your shot groups, but with a new pistol and trying to fire as fast as possible, I felt pretty good about it.

TexChik · F
@Ontheroad Its a lethal grouping. Nothing wrong with it! I shoot every week at home and at the farm sometimes every day. I carry and have taken a lot of situational training. The last thing I ever want is to need to draw my weapon and fire it at someone, but I certainly will if threatened. The marksmanship training just helps ensure the safety of others if that ever happens.
Ontheroad · M
@TexChik It's definitely lethal and when I don't push for rapid fire it gets a lot better. Actually I have now added a rail and Crimson Trace green laser... took a moment to get it zeroed, but it sure improves accuracy 😁. I don't practice nearly as much as you do, but after having carried a 1911 in combat and 20 years as a soldier, I'm confident with my skills... however, one does need to practice and I'm hell on tin cans! 🤣

I recently taught myself to name all the US Presidents in order.
@DrWatson That’s impressive, actually.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@bijouxbroussard Thanks. But it will be nothing more than short term memory if I don't keep practicing it, and I am not sure I am motivated enough to do that!

I know a guy who memorized the first 50 digits of pi, and he actually won a bet from it. He managed to convince the other guy that he was drunk and making a wild claim that he knew all those digits, and so he suckered the guy into betting him $50.

So who knows? Maybe Millard Fillmore will come in handy that way someday! 😄
At 12 I free climbed Devils Tower, thats the first thing Ive done that Im still proud of actually. My dad brought that up a few times over the years with a chuckle, as in "I knew your life wasnt going to be normal when at 12...."
Jlhzfromep · M
@TallMtnMedic definitely not a small thing...congratulations
@Jlhzfromep It was a spur of the moment, non thinking it through back then.
Now it would be a big deal to me, back then it was another adventure for me.

Really surprised i didnt kill my folks with worry, or myself back then.

Also, it was easier than you think. So many crevasses and handholds.

When I took the time to put together an inviting journal to help me process and expel my thoughts.

Was meant to be a monthly habit to stick with, but this was the only month I really dove into it. Was proud of myself for completing it though.

Oh goodness. I seem to walk around with this idea that nothing about me or anything I do could ever quite be good enough for anyone else. Leads me to expect abject failure from myself. It does not, however, keep me from feeling the little internal squeals and wiggles when I pull something off that’s better than I expected. 😂 Edible food, 2 square inches of a drawing that turned out great, a photo that’s accidentally really cool, a functional project… Can’t go around crowing over shiny bits and pieces amongst the rubble, but I’m glad I can still feel them and sometimes I put them here just so I don’t explode. Amen to a little anonymity. 🙏😂

Came in 2nd in a full contact karate tournament at age 57 - my first full contact tournament.

When I went to work the next day to run a sales meeting, the entire room had heard and gave me a standing ovation.

I was really touched. I didn’t know they knew or cared.

A few weeks ago I built a homemade coat tree, coat rack, with one of the unused 4 by 4 posts down in cellar. Got 20 good sized hooks at Lowe's for only $6.98 plus tax and bolted it down with some brackets I had laying around. Used 18 of the 20 hooks and like making one finally to sit by my little recliner to hold my clothes and belts and hats and stuff that's not dirty enough to wash yet.. it turned out good and had a good time putting it together didn't take long only a couple hours taking my time..

I wrote a children’s book... would be a much better accomplishment if I actually published it though...lol

I used to be a very messy person and it was totally normal for me once I was awake just go and do something else instead of making my bed until I return home at night. Not anymore, now I'm able to make my bed everyday!!
I go out of my way acting all goofy just to get my loved ones to smile and better yet giggle.
Eyeinthesky · 56-60, F
I destroyed only left side. It wasn’t intentional.

Ontheroad · M
@Eyeinthesky depending upon what distance you were shooting at, you did a whole lot better than many I've seen. I still wouldn't want to be your target.
Eyeinthesky · 56-60, F
@Ontheroad it was one of last long range. I got better score with short range.
I wouldn’t hurt anything, I promise. 😇
Nanoose · 61-69, M
Well I was quite proud of the self sucking bong I made. I used a breast pump for the sucking action on the bong and it worked real well. Cheers
I don't keep record of any of my silly stuff.

Won a 7th grade spelling competition...and they misspelled my name on the award. 😑

Made me the cynic I am today!
