Yes I learned to drive in a stick shift. Here in Britain we call a stick shift a manual and almost everyone learns to drive using stick.Later I learned how to change gear without using the clutch.

👍 and shift without the clutch after first gear. That's both up and down shifts

Before I changed to automatic I was learning how to drive a stick shift it wasn’t too bad but I decided it’s easier to do automatic

Probably, with a bit of practice. Been 50 years or so since I drove a stick shift, and I didn't learn until I was in my mid-20s and had to learn to drive a 2-axle (I think that was the term) 3-ton dump truck.

I learned on a stick shift. Unfortunately, the shift was on the wheel, and I never learned 4 on the floor. I TRIED once...(boyfriend's '65 Mustang), and ground the gears. 🥴🤭🤭

Being English I’ve hardly ever driven anything else. Gear changing is automatic and done subconsciously. The problem is if you are forced to drive an automatic your hand keeps trying to find a non-existent gear stick.
