If you go to a store or a food place enough times to where somebody who works there might "remember" you

Is that good or bad? lol

To me it feels comfortable.

When I was transitioning to becoming a full blown alcoholic, the bar I frequented already had my pints pulled because they were certain I'd turn up.

Usually bad. I stop going there. But the woman at the only open register at Kroger at 9:00 in the morning knows me now and I enjoy talking to her. Other than my roommate she's the only person I talk to.

I try to be polite when interacting with people in stores or whatever but I really do not like to be bothered.

Usually at stores if they actually pay attention to customers or talk to them, it is because they think the customer is up to no good.
