From 1970 to 1974 I got around Boston, Massachusetts by walking or taking the metro.

From 1974 to 1980 I got around Madison, Wisconsin by walking or taking buses.

In 1980 I bought by first car, when I realized I was about to move to non-urban area without that kind of public transportation.

Nothing is within walking or biking range, so it would have to be Uber.
