@Thatsright oooh.... No. I don't even know any vegans in general.

I don’t mind vegans.
I have a friend whose whole family went vegan years ago.
They did so when they moved a few hours away. Converted within months of moving.
They came back and stayed with us, but didn’t tell us. I was setting up the grill for steaks.
They felt terrible for not letting us know.
We ended up having baked potatoes and canned beans or something.
They made supper the next night. Pretty good sweet potato burritos.
This was in the 80s. I think veganism was just invented then.
Wait, what was the OG comment?

@Thatsright
I don't remember what the OG comment was, nor do I care.
It's refreshing hearing about someone nor judging others for being vegan (or similar)
I've been a pescetarian the last 11,5 years and STILL get crap from immediate family members and relatives. Even tho I promised myself (and made a post on facebook) that I would never be the kind of person to try and convince others to do the same.

I'm vegetarian.
Limited social time.
It's permanently Lent!

@basilfawlty89 Do you eat eggs?
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@Thatsright yes. And drink milk. And consume honey.
It literally IS year round Lent and I'm Catholic.
So not a complete joke.

@basilfawlty89 All bullshit aside, knowing what I know now I would have gone vegetarian a long time ago. I know it’s never too late, but it is for my mindset. The folks I know/knew are mostly healthy. The big C darkens every group’s doorstep. Back to normal bullshit posting.

Making asociality trendy is how you kill a civilization

@BlueVeins huh? *confused in Norwegian not into politics*

@TheRealBarbossa How do I say this without sounding like a weirdo...
Over the past 80 odd years, people all across the developed world have gotten less socially connected. Hundreds of millions of people have moved away from city centers, out into the suburbs and rural areas. The rise of in-home entertainment has replaced hanging out at public parks, movie theatres, malls, arcades, etc. People have become more isolated, more socially anxious, more depressed, and overall less happy and amenable to social interaction. The health impacts are measurable and massive.
I don't fault you if you live an unsociable life. I kind of do too. But I do think it's harmful, for everyone, to treat that trend as a fun little quirky personal quirk as opposed to a social ill ravaging our societies.

@BlueVeins I didn't spot a single lie or hyperbole in that comment.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
I tend to avoid vegetables. They’re not very conversational.
TheRealBarbossa · 36-40, T
@Adogslife Yes we are! That's a horrible and untrue stereotype!
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@TheRealBarbossa vegetables, not vegetarians
TheRealBarbossa · 36-40, T
@Adogslife i know
