What advice would you try giving to somebody who might of lost at their very first competition or they came in last place?

Either if you were a coach or a parent or just trying to "help" in a way?

Losing the first time out is not uncommon. Our first night on the race track we made all kinds of mistakes. We had a car that could win. After the race was over a veteran driver was quick to tell us everything we did wrong. Then he said "Did you have fun?". My son the driver replied, "yes". The driver who had given him criticism then replied, "That is all that counts".
You got out there and tried. There will be another day.
