I’ll wean off instead of cold turkey it but I really need off it

@MommaBear Good you listen to your friends!.

I quit with prescribed antidepressants ages ago. The first I took made me angry instead of depressed and another I took messed with my sleep schedule. I stick with natural remedies now. Sure everyone’s body chemistry is different, so it’s going effect people differently, but the changes have been so drastic, it’s just not worth it.
As others have said, you will probably need to taper rather than stop abruptly. You can have very nasty discontinuation symptoms otherwise. Speak to your doctor first and sort out an appropriate plan of action.

I cold turkey'd antidepressants and ended up disabled. Weaning off is definitely the way to go. :)

MDD? I hope you feel better soon. Taper off, and keep in mind that it’s common for people with misdiagnosed bipolar to have worsening symptoms on antidepressants

i tried that once for about a week and a half. disaster.
i had to phone the NHS helpline i felt that bad,
they gave me an emergency prescription.

I’ve got depression too. Perhaps it would be a good idea to try some different meds? That worked out quite well for me, although I’m probably a bit too chill and laid back now…

I stopped my meds cold but I don't think that was a good idea. I should have weaned myself. I'm back on them again now

Did you ween off first? Please don’t do this alone.

@tobynshorty being on them might hospitalize me it’s made things so much worse

@MommaBear call your doctor 🤔

@MommaBear @tobynshorty she’s right, you can’t just stop most of those medications for depression cold turkey. Pristiq is a really difficult one to ween off of.

Great!

I would consult you doctor first, not a good idea to just stop.

You have kids, be more responsible than that

Try meditation and exercise. And stop listening to your brain. It lies.
