Guys I started antidepressants recently…

The amount of ✨nothing✨ I feel is crazy… I feel like a robot just numb.. a shell of a person

I’ve found I couldn’t do prescribed antidepressants or anti-anxiety meds. They’d either make me feel very lifeless or just very angry (which was real daunting, because I’m not an angry person) It traumatized me out of ever trying them again. Here’s hoping it helps you, though. I’ve found others who struggle with depression and anxiety and have told me their prescription meds have done wonders for them. The reality is everyone’s body chemistry is different. A medication that might help one person might be detrimental for another and vice versa. I only hope yours end up helping you. Good luck. ❤

@Ducky hopefully it helps me

Listen. I never class age as wisdom so im not trying to be smart. But, ive been on them all. Anti psychotics. Mirtazapine. Sertraline. Venlafaxine etc. NONE work. Some are a absolute nightmare to get off of. They are only good for VERY short term use. Getting to route causes is key to mental freedom. Or atleast a realistic percentage of it. Please be careful. I speak with over 25 years experience in taking these types of meds. Hindsight is a very real thing.

The only one that helped me when I was horribly depressed was Lexapro

It was enough of a push to help me climb up out of the hole

I’m currently not on any meds, but it did help me during two really rough patches in the past

Maybe you’re not on the right one for you?
MommaBear · 26-30, F
@WaryWitchWandering that’s what they put me on was lexapro

@MommaBear it helped me tremendously after a few weeks

Awww I'm so sorry you are feeling this way. Just try to think positive and keep your head up. Things will be ok. You have a great man that loves you now and a wonderful family too! So just think about them, ok?

Thats terrible. My antidepressants saved my life. You might need to speak to your doctor.

Wishing it all improves for you soon, i wish i could say something more constructive, but clinging to a belief of better days to come and nurturing it would be something i'd be focusing on.

I HATED that feeling - came off them because of that alone... I was worried about what I might do in my quest to feel something - anything.
MommaBear · 26-30, F
@HootyTheNightOwl I’m worried about that too
BlueVeins · 22-25
Yeah that's usually the problem, ain't it.

I think beeer and weed are much safer.
Perry1968 · M
@badminton Alcohol and Benzos are literally the 2 most dangerous substances to come away from once addicted. They can cause seizures. Fatalities.
hunkalove · 70-79, M
Exercise and meditation work a lot better than pills.
JackDaniels · 46-50, M
It should get better as your body adjusted to them.
MommaBear · 26-30, F
@JackDaniels I’ve heard it can take away the ability to orgasm and if that’s the case I swear I will stop taking them
JackDaniels · 46-50, M
@MommaBear Hope that is not the case.
Perry1968 · M
@MommaBear Please battle the route causes of your problem/s and use these drugs very very short term.
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
They're awful. It wasn't worth it for me personally.
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
Is that better or worse than the depression?
HootyTheNightOwl · 41-45
@ViciDraco imo... it was worse.
