If somebody asks for your opinion on something political do you answer openly or prefer keeping it to yourself and not risking a debate or fight?

Living where I live it’s a case by case basis

Because being honest and open leads to physical violence more often than not so it’s always a decision about whether or not I want to start another fight

it depends to who and what the topic is.....some 'foreigners' opinions aren't 'allowed' to meddle in their country's policies even though it's just an opinion.... it's often completely futile.

In this society now, I often leave politics aside because the topic has become toxic. If you want to talk policy or ideas, if I have any insight or opinion on them, then I will speak.

I tend to ask more questions than give blanket / opinion based answers. What have you seen/heard? Why are you asking ... is there something I should be aware of? Open the conversation up to dialogue - in which they have to use their brains to formulate an original thought ... instead of repeated triggered tag lines from XYZ media corp.

It depends on the person and the setting. I can answer or disengage depending on the situation.

depends on the situation. and my mood. if its someone i dont know at all, i dont engage, because you never know what you could be walking into.

If they ask me in person, I tell them. If it is here or somewhere else online, I remain silent.

Unless I know who exactly I am talking to I tend to keep my answers very neutral.
