should a man hit a woman back (self defence wise)

I’m torn on this issue.
On the one hand as you’ve said, a person (male or female) should have the right to defend themselves against anyone attacking them physically.

In my mind the circumstances are the key here, if I outweigh her by a hundred pounds or more I should be able to fend her off without striking her, or just walk away from the situation, I’m old school and was taught that a man should never hit a woman..
Then again, if she has some kind of weapon that could seriously harm me then I might be forced to use physical force against her, but only as much as would be minimally necessary..

I don’t like hurting people, men or women especially but I can if I need to..

Depends. I'd never even consider throwing a strike at a woman unless she was trying to murder me or something like that.

Tbh I wouldn't even hit most men unless there was no other choice. I prefer methods that don't require punches or kicks.

But that's just my choice. If someone wants to go around attacking people, I won't condemn someone for defending themselves as long as it's within reason.

Yes, he should defend himself. If he can walk away then do that, but if someone is attacking him and won't stop then yes by all means defend yourself.
