should a man hit a woman back (self defence wise)

like if she physically assault him first should he hit her back
in my personal opinion self defence wise doesn't matter if your a guy or a girl nobody has the right to put their hands on you regardless of your gender so if a guy hits a girl then she can hit but if a girl hit a guy tbh dude knock her the fuck out XD XD

The natural response is to hit back but when the guy is physically bigger and stronger, you really don't have much of a chance.
