What's something that makes you feel proud of yourself?

For me it's when nieces asks me for help bc they trust me enough to ask, and have faith I can help.

Like yesterday when oldest niece (14) told me "I need uncle advice!" then asked how to deal with a boy who seems to wanna be more than friends, but she doesn't like him that way.

She also asked which school subjects I was good in so I could help. I told her maths and english.
Her response: "Oh, good. I need help with english. I already have 3 people able to help me with maths tho, but I'd rather you help me than them tbh"

She really boosted my confidence without knowing how much that ment to me 🥰

My girlfriend's coworkers and bosses, who I barely know and don't even really talk to, all treat me warmly. One of them even hugged me the other day. I'm pretty sure she's saying good things about me at work. She even told me how when others complain about their partners, she can't relate to them at all.

I spent a lot of my life alone, so getting that kind of props on my relationship skills is incredibly reassuring

@TinyViolins what people say behind your back is usually the truth. The fact she's talked about you in such a way that strangers hug you is a good sign 💜

That I'm better shape then most people my age or younger.

I'm 57 with no high cholesterol, no high or low blood pressure, I have a heart rate of 25-30 year olds (doctor told me that). I'm on no meds, I can still out work teenagers and 20 years old in ginseng fields (most quit after a couple of hours), I run and play tag full speed with grandkids, I play on dodgeball leage with bunch highschool kids to young adults for a charity event to raise money every month (I'm the oldest player) for the womens shelter

So how many you near 60 can say that

When I go a day without yearning for human extinction, I get pretty stoked, I'm not gonna lie.
LordBarbossa · 36-40, T
@GeistInTheMachine I knew not actively wishing for it for short periods of time was a thing, but a whole day? Sounds as made up as unicorns, an honest politician, or the perfect man.
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
@LordBarbossa It takes quantum levels of effort to maintain, honestly. It's not very efficient or sustainable. That's why usually I just say Eff 'em all.

@GeistInTheMachine *takes notes*
