Spam is very fatty, so you have to fry it to try to render some of the fat out. After that, it's good. It tastes like very salty ham. I can see putting tiny chunks of it in potato leek soup, or in corn chowder!

I grew up eating spam because it was cheap, and we (My parents) started out poor, then the Army treated in like a main course every other meal and you ate it in both circumstances because you were hungry. After 27 years of the Army and my childhood, I will buy and use real smoked ham!
