If you say no to giving a homeless person some money does that mean bad karma will happen and you'll end up homeless later?

When someone asks you for money in a parking lot how do you know who is a drug addict and who is a person who lost their home for financial reasons? I know where I live there are very few people in the latter category because of all the assistance we offer.
@FreeSpirit1 The parking lots and freeway ramps are scammers, the real homeless tend to stick closer to the shelters. I know this because I was briefly homeless myself a couple of times in the 90's, as well as my bff in Denver is homeless, as well as her late brother and a sister of hers.

@FreeSpirit1 This is true. I have seen a book that was published to hand out to the newly homeless here. There are so many organizations and city entities helping these people and then they want to stand in public areas and beg, sometimes within 4 blocks of the Food & shelter place and 2 which has a food pantry, clothing donations, free small tents, a free laundromat to use, and a once-a-week grocery shop store where they can choose the foods they want in 4 different categories. And there is a free health for friends that operates in the area too. What else do they really need to have to stand around begging for hours?
@cherokeepatti Human interaction other than fellow homeless, they want to be seen.

@NativePortlander1970 What is being seen when they act aggressively is their asses.
@cherokeepatti Because they're tired of being ignored. I have a friend from India, he says that how the west, specially the US, treats the homeless is far worse than his own country's caste system.

@NativePortlander1970 If they weren’t so scary they wouldn’t be ignored. I don’t want to be close enough to make eye contact as it is. They could get offered jobs and refuse them, they can be close to people that way. They would rather beg.

@NativePortlander1970 I don’t believe what he said about the caste system.
@cherokeepatti I do, I have seen homelessness on a very personal level, our capitalist system is extremely cruel.
