If you say no to giving a homeless person some money does that mean bad karma will happen and you'll end up homeless later?

If truth were known around my city most of those donations are being taken to a liquor store and spent or drugs being bought and consumed. The police have more than they can handle in this city. And the homeless can get free food, clothing and other necessities from shelters and pantries. Residents are reporting being asked for money to buy food near a Sprouts health food store here and then they are seen going right next door and buying liquor.
@cherokeepatti exactly. My county is spending $300 million a year on the homeless issue. They have access to food, shelter, showers, transportation, etc. if they want it. But the money they ask for goes to booze or drugs.

@BizSuitStacy they aren’t even a bit secretive about it either if they head straight to the next-door liquor store, which is the most convenient one for them. I went to that Sprouts store about 3 years ago and a homeless man approached me as I was the only customer in the back part of the story and gave me his spiel. I didn’t say a word and he continued talking. The lady who usually works back there in the vitamin & supplement section was apparently on break so that’s probably why he approached me, he didn’t want to get kicked out. I know someone who was homeless living in the nearby shelter about 20 years ago. She said the men would tell her all of their spiels and tricks to manipulate people into forking over cash. They are quite the cons. And that was quite a while ago when they weren’t so pushy and there were not nearly as many wandering around.
@cherokeepatti my nephew was in my area on a business trip, so we met for dinner. He was in downtown Seattle and told me the bums were really aggressive...that's something considering my nephew lives in NYC. There are more of them and they're less inhibited.

@BizSuitStacy They have gotten aggressive here too. Maybe not all. But they’ll yell at teens if they are skateboarding and act like they own the sidewalks. They can push their stolen shopping carts filled with stuff and that’s OK. Parents in those areas are making their kids stay inside, they will go through the backyards for “Shortcuts” and argue about it when the homeowners tell them to stay out of their yards.
