When is a priest (or someone equivalent) obligated to tell law enforcement

If you've confessed something really bad?

Asking for my dog
Northguy1 · 56-60, M
A priest can never, under any circumstance, reveal what he has been told in a confessional, even when threatened with imprisonment for withholding any type of evidence.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@Northguy1 interesting. Thank you for answering
elafina · 36-40, F
I think never. That's how it's supposed to be.
elafina · 36-40, F
@caPnAhab I wonder though, what about doctors ? Like if you go with a bullet in your leg. Or psychiatrists .. I dunno. What does your dog say ?
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@elafina I wonder too. Actually, I don't know if a doctor would question what circumstances lead to a bullet being there... just get it out

Yes, my dog is an inquisitive, wondering mind. Kidding, I don't have a dog

@elafina @caPnAhab medical professionals cannot say anything either. Only under certain circumstances, like child abuse or if there's a current investigation going on and the police involve them, but that's rare. But a random confession is never enough to report to police. First of all you can't even prove that they told you that or that it's true.

I think they should have to
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
@Lostpoet you would think so, huh?
never!..

Snitches get stitches.. ..
