I was prolly 9 or 10 when my dad lost his job and Xmas wasn’t that spectacular that year I remember wanting a jacket but only getting like 5 dollar earring from Claire’s.I remember being vocal about it and getting mad and my mom almost slapped me. from point on I stopped asking for things on Christmas ..

@Bananaxx They tried, but as far back as I can remember I used to lay in bed and wonder why they went to all the trouble of fibbing about it. I learned to read at 3 years, so it's not like it could have lasted any great length of time anyway. I would have found out sooner rather than later.
I knew better than to tell my older sister too, I was well aware that I would have gotten in trouble. I never really felt as if I missed out on anything.🤷♂️

I was 4 or 5. I went outside early Christmas morning and there was no sleigh tracks in the snow. Not even the snow on the roof. Hmmmm.
