Fell off many times. Didn't have a big crash till I was 9. I was riding up the Thevenard Wharf with my Dad and two brothers. Dad was worried that one of my two bros would fall off if they kept racing so he told me to stay behind as he tried to keep up with them. He should have worried about me.
He looked ridiculous trying to keep balance on his bike. I laughed, lost control and ended up in the water.
The first face to look over was the kid Danny. The look on his face suggested he thought to see a dead body. The next face was Dad, who cracked up laughing. Danny gave him a different weird look and stepped away from him.
'Can you swim?' dad called.
'Yeah'
'Good, I'm not jumping in after you again! swim to the side and climb up.' 'let go of the bike and swim to side.' I didn't want to but it was dragging me down. Then from above 'is it cold down there?'
'Not when you get used to it' I called back.
I climbed out went home, had a bath, I was hyperthermic I think, It was -2 C that day. Got dressed and went with dad who had attached the rope from a crab net to a razorfish grabber thingy, and went and fished the bicycle out. At the area I had fallen in. I was very lucky I wasn't killed.

never happened.
laid a Honda 600RR down once when I hit pea gravel in a sharp turn, skidded about 40-50ft down a field, but was wearing full leathers so no big deal (unlike some idiots that ride while wearing shorts, sandals, and a tank top...)

Never years old. I did crash into a bench when I was on a sled once tho, but there were no injuries.

@DrSunnyTheSkeptic You are totally missing it, man. It is a basic thing that distinguishes a child from an adult, a distingushing intellectual trait of a mature person. Pain vs Harm. Hopefully you will understand and apply it someday. I wish you luck.
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
@uncleshawn I really think there's something wrong with you, there's nothing intellectual or mature about pain, normal people don't like it just as we were intended to, we were hard wired to associate pain with harm and thus avoid it, so does any living being with the ability to feel it.

@DrSunnyTheSkeptic Good luck.

Yet to get a neck scan. But crashed my first bicycle at 9 and Mobike at 20 😊
uncleshawn · 41-45, M
@WandererTony A boy doesn't become a man until he has crashed a bike, fallen out of a tree, been bitten by numerous animals, and nearly break his neck.
WandererTony · 56-60, M
@uncleshawn True.
Personally, my neck has survived though my arms and forehead and toes haven’t. 😃

No ~ that never happened
uncleshawn · 41-45, M
@Spica It was an Algerian guy who told me, so I doubted his credibility to speak about Moroccan people on bikes.
Spica · 31-35, F
@uncleshawn Uh huh, next time, tell him

@Spica I'll get my Arab neighbors to tell me how to say that.

I was 3 trying to ride a 2 wheeler and flipped over the handle bars and got 2 black eyes.
uncleshawn · 41-45, M
@Keepitsimple At 3! You're a trooper.

um never
SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
I was 23. Well that didn't happen exactly, but I ended up with 5 stitches in my chin and a minor concussion.
uncleshawn · 41-45, M
@SubstantialKick Nothing like a good concussion. Hopefully we won't develop that protein brain disease thing that comes from head injuries.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
Nah my bike was stolen before I learned to use two wheels only.
That said though, I did break my arm twice. The first time was attacking some karate style jump kick, falling on my arm and rolling.

@basilfawlty89 I hate when I break my arm doing that.
