I miss the Queen

Im watching a documentary on the Queen and I am slightly embarrassed to say I miss her. She has been there my whole life.

The Queen was a good woman and doesn't deserve any disrespect at all
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@GovanDUNNY She was a bastard for asking for 15 million pounds to be taken from a child's poverty fund in order to pay for her palaces heating bills.
She wasn't a nice sweet old lady the tv and papers would have you believe.
GovanDUNNY · M
@Entwistle Edward would knock your block off for talking about his mama like that
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@Entwistle Edward doesn't like the truth?

{@jimbosaturn] 😄 nothing to be ashamed of there you appreciated what she did for the british people and she was a good ambassador for the country abroad
Entwistle · 56-60, M
I don't miss her at all. I'm not a Royal fan.
DavidT8899 · 22-25, M
@Entwistle We are all entitled to our opinions.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@DavidT8899 Yes he has a point.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@DavidT8899 Of course we are. Nobody is saying we aren't.

The majority in the UK couldn't give a fuck. But each to their own.

I'm still trying to get used to having a king.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@Sharon I'm still trying to get used to writing '20' and not '19' when writing the current date!
Japrost · 41-45, M
Im tired hearing about it
@Japrost lol

Then why reply?
calicuz · 51-55, M
She was a good leader for her people.
Lauren19 · 26-30, F
@SomeMichGuy You can talk about the nuts and bolts of it all day long. But for many Brits the monarchy is an outdated shambles of an organisation. I never, ever considered the Queen a "leader" of any kind. Just an old, irrelevant person that I had nothing to do with.

Every now and then in the news they'll say the baking and I'm like "What?" "Oh yeah..."

I understand my friend.....she was a true Queen and Lady!!

Your reaction is understandable.Much like Pope John Paul II,Queen Elizabeth was such an indelible public figure that it seemed like she'd be around forever.Alas, even the greatest and most monumental of leaders are,in the end, only human and must pass as all humans must. But in our hearts and mind, she will endure forever.
@DavidT8899 Lmao JPII? He was around for longer than other recent popes, but a little while (1978 - 2005, 27 yrs.) in comparison to ERII.

She reigned 70 yr 7 mos and change.

Lots of living people were around before mid-Oct. 1978 when Karol Wojtyła ascended to the papacy.

Many fewer are around from before early Feb. 1952 when Elizabeth ascended to the throne. She'd been Queen for 26-2/3 yr before JPII became Pope, or nearly as long as *he* held his office. Then she doubled that and added over 16 more years on top.
It's true for most people the world over.

@SW-User ...where art thou?

I think that's what it is, the queen was always the queen who was always there, and now we have a king and it feels strange. But we'll be alright.
