Camilla when William becomes King

When William becomes King, will Camilla be called the Queen Mother, since William probably does not consider her to be his mother?
It looks to me like maybe Queen Dowager could be an alternative that would recognize her as a former queen, without the motherhood baggage? I am looking forward to the UK Sweeps waking up and weighing in.
It appears that a lot of people don't realize my question is not about what Camilla will be called when Charles is king. It is about what she will be called when she is a widow. Elizabeth's mother was called the Queen Mother.
They announced Queen Elizabeth preferred "Queen Consort."

Apparently King's Escort and Wicked Witch of the West were not in consideration.
@Mamapolo2016 If she survives King Charles she'll be "Dowager Queen." But that's just a very short adjustment away from "Damager Queen" isn't it?
@ElwoodBlues Very short. Then she could marry Trump.
Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M
@Mamapolo2016 not officially anyway! Lol 😂
EvilEmily · F
she isnt the queen with charless alive... she is the "queen consort" and will keep that title after charles death too
funfan · 51-55, M
@EvilEmily you know a great deal about english royalty! 👏
EvilEmily · F
@funfan dont laugh i picked up a lot about primigeniture and other feudal inheritance practices from a computer game
funfan · 51-55, M
@EvilEmily nah i never judge. actually that's kinda fascinating
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
Don’t be silly - she isn’t the mother of a queen
Fluffybull · F
Her title is HM the Queen Consort. Addressed as "Your Majesty" and then "Ma'am".

(Although there are plenty of people who may have other names for her........😉)
Poppies · 61-69, F
@Fluffybull that is her title while Charles lives. I am thinking of after. When Queen Elizabeth's mother was still living she was called the Queen Mother during Elizabeth's reign.
Fluffybull · F
@Poppies Camilla will technically be Queen Dowager when Charles dies.
Carissimi · F
Probably. Maybe the Queen Step Mother? 😉
Pretzel · 61-69, M
@Carissimi I think william will be calling her "the wh*** that cheated on my mom with my dad"?
Steve42 · 56-60, M
Maybe William will send her to the tower for causing his parents to break up.
Ontheroad · M
Since I'm not an authority on these matters, I wouldn't know. I do think her current title is off... it should be something like "King's Harlot". Then again, I guess marrying a Prince who you committed adultery with gives you a pass for being a homewrecker.
Valerian · 100+, M
@Ontheroad Diana was equally furcking around after the boys were born because Charles was the entire time! Charles had to Marry Diana because it was necessary... There's books and articles galore, don't just Guess!
Ontheroad · M
@Valerian I didn't say anything about anyone but the Prince and his shack job. And, if Charles was getting his thing wet elsewhere, I don't blame her a bit. As to having had to mary, that was between two consenting adults who were not at the time married to others. Basically, I think the whole who gets what title is sort of silly anyway. There is, if a marriage occurs a King and a Queen and if they have children, a Prince and at some point a Princess... why all the fuss and muss?
JollyRoger · 70-79, M
@Ontheroad I think Poppies is trying to focus on Camilla's tltle in the heirarchy. I'm going to take a guess that she'd be "Her Highness the Duchess of Cornwall" - where she might reverts back to her title before having become Queen (Consort) but with the elevated stature to "Her Highness."
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
I read online she was called Queen Mother bc she had the same name as Elizabeth the actual queen. So to avoid confusion she was just known as queen mother.

Therefore Camila will prob be known as Camilla, and her title would be WannabeKing/QueenMotherbutnicetrydontthinkso.
Patientlywaiting · 46-50, F
She's a marriage wrecker. She has no real place as either.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@Patientlywaiting She was tragic, frail, and condemned to a loveless marriage by royal politics.
Patientlywaiting · 46-50, F
@ChipmunkErnie Most British people remember her differently.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@Patientlywaiting Not my fault if they do -- they can fantasize all they like, like the Royal-philes here in the US. But then again, how many of the "people" knew her beyond what the read in the papers or saw on TV? Not like she was hanging out with them at the local.

Just a tragic story all around. :(
damselfly · 100+, F
Queen Mother was a special title created because the old lady didnt want to move aside when her husband the king died. She was very resistant to moving out of the palace when her daughter became queen. Camilla won't be like that
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Camilla as a widow or if Charles abdicates in favor of Willie? I'd think Queen Dowager, since she wouldn't be the King's mother, and I don't think they have a title of Queen Stepmother. But who knows -- it could end up a debate in Parliament?
JoyfulSilence · 46-50, M
Queen Stepmom?

But maybe by then the monarchy will be dissolved.

If they all insist on having monarchs, then at least let the people elect them. Or maybe have a college of electors like they have for the Pope. The monarch and/or Parliament can fill their ranks, then they choose somebody.

The monarch can still serve for life, or at least a long time. Or maybe say, only 20 years to allow for new blood from time to time. Age brings wisdom, but it never made sense to me when these ancient leaders persist when they can no longer be active or lose mental sharpness. Please retire!
You're assuming she’s going to live longer than the king.. quite frankly i think she smoked her face into leather and i doubt her liver looks any better.. not that i know anything about her
Midnightoker1 · 61-69, M
She should be called " Charlie's peice of ass"
Midnightoker1 · 61-69, M
@carpediem I think that would be appropriate?
carpediem · 61-69, M
@Midnightoker1 I'll consider it once I stop barfing at the thought
Midnightoker1 · 61-69, M
I've heard "Dowager Queen" for Camilla after King Charles passes away.
Pretzel · 61-69, M
I believe she will be called queen
elizabeth would have been the queen mother had she abdicated and was still alive?
Pretzel · 61-69, M
@DoubleRings yup. that's my understanding. I know she's dead.

the last time there was a queen mother was when Elizabeth's mom was still alive.
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
@Pretzel wouldn’t she then be Queen Grandmother?? Idk how it works but she’s Queen mother to Charles. And anyway the question is asking what Camilla will be when William is King.
Pretzel · 61-69, M
@DoubleRings you're right - brains not working
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
I will call her Camilla
Sepia · 36-40, F
Queen step momma. Queen sweepstakes. Queen Dowager. The wife of Charles. Newest plebeian fresh from the gates. Banished from the court. President of Charles fans club. The modern demimonde. What a sad life. lol
Tamara68 · 56-60, F
Maybe she dies first and nobody will have to think about what to call her.
Poppies · 61-69, F
@Tamara68 quite true
Fluffybull · F
@Tamara68 Quite possible. She's older than Charles, though only by two years I believe.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
They will play the royal shuffle when it happens. Too many castles in England already that need a cat lady.
scooogy · 31-35, MVIP
It might either be Queen step mom or step Queen mom 🤔
EvilEmily · F
@scooogy its "Queen Consort" thats offical
scooogy · 31-35, MVIP
@EvilEmily rather looking forward to the fancy title "King dad" 😬
I’m going to start calling my wife the King’s consort
AdaXI · 41-45, T
Crown Camilla King seems the most logical answer.
乂^◡^乂
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Oh heck, just go with Mrs. Dead King and let it go at that?
Valerian · 100+, M
Queen Consortium or Condominium, NOT Mother! 🤦🏻‍♂️
bsawyer111 · 56-60, M
William must really miss his mum!

Havesomefun2 · 56-60, M
She is only a consort
Queen Consort.
JaggedLittlePill · 46-50, F
Queen Consort...as far as I have seen. Not Queen Mother if there is a difference, anyhow.
