There were plenty of conspiracy theories around at the time, but the royal family was under no threat from her. She had a fair divorce payout, was an heiress in her own right, was living the high life with a fast set, and was doing very well in her work for her favourite charities. She was free to see her sons.
Her death was exactly as reported - a car crash in a tunnel, she and her lover Dodi quite drunk. Her chauffeur was speeding in an attempt to escape the paparazzi .

@Notladylike But not really.Once shes not married to the Prince of Wales anymore,her children would no longer even be in the line of succession.William and Harry are,because their father is the King,obviously any subsequent children born to Diana would NOT have Charles as their father.
