Oh dear, for a moment there you had me thinking that Musk actially behaved like a responsible human being 😅

Lesson for the day: you can't "account" for a fictional donation 🤣
Elon Musk publicly challenged the U.N. World Food Programme (WFP) in October 2021, saying he would “sell Tesla stock right now and do it” if WFP could explain how $6 billion would solve world hunger. The WFP’s director responded with a $6–6.6 billion plan to feed roughly 42 million people, and weeks later Musk transferred roughly $5.7 billion in Tesla stock to a charity — but public records and reporting do not show a direct $6 billion payment to the WFP, and some outlets report the stock went to Musk’s own foundation rather than to the U.N.

@SunshineGirl actually, none of it went to the world food program, because one of the conditions was he wanted to know how they were gonna spend it. And account for it because it is riddled with overpaid bureaucrats and waste, just like u s aid, just like the homeless issue in los angeles, they give money to these organizations in different areas of the world and only about 2 to 20 percent of the money actually goes to feed the hungry. And if you believe, otherwise, you've been brainwashed. You have all these charities, where the board of directors and the people that work at the charity, make plenty of money from the donations and government grants, but the actual people they are there to supposedly help hardly see any results. They would not show any kind of a plan on how they would spend the money. Therefore, he did not donate to them. But he did offer, and I don't expect him to do it unless they show him they're not gonna waste the money.

@dale74 Read the report, you might actually learn something. He asked how $6bn would impact world hunger and he was given an answer. He was trying to be provocative and it backfired, so he apparently ended up selling stock anyway to avoid looking a complete prat. At no stage did he question the WFP's financial accountability . . because that really would have been beyond satire.

Not a fan of him but good for him to help.

@FreestyleArt just remember, the world food organization would not open their accounting books to show where they spend their money. That was the only condition elon musk had

Over $2.6 Trillion has been spent in Africa since 1960 to "cure hunger"...
they're still hungry... another trillion wouldn't make any difference...
