@nudistsueaz while the US market does pay substantially more for brand-name drugs than other countries, the claim that the US pays for 100% of all research and that other countries pay zero research costs is a misunderstanding of how global pharmaceutical pricing and financing work. No. Global drug companies generally recover their Research and Development (R&D) costs across their entire global sales portfolio. R&D is a sunk cost for the company, meaning a portion of the revenue from every single sale. I got that online, i am jut glad that the cost of medicine in the US is going up as the free market is deciding the rate! Yes!

@Steph34 global pharmaceutical pricing isn't something that concerns me. We go to Mexico a couple of times a year and the same meds we have here, made by the same companies are sold there. Just much, much cheaper.
