As of this morning, no formal annoucements were made by China. I don't know what will happen.

They'll be paid for with the Mexican cheque...

@Strictmichael75 Ok, you meant "old Boeings" when you typed "old borings". Thanks for the clarifications.

There are no old Boeings. @swirlie is under the impression (and probably you also) that the Boeing 777 is "20 years old in design technology".

The first Boeing 777 entered into service in 1995. Does this make the jet 30 years old in design technology? The Boeing 747 is still in service today even though it was rolled out 55 years ago in 1970 and stopped in 2023. Does the Boeing 747 flying today by UPS and Atlas Air, not to mention Air Force One, has old technology?

Even the Dodge Ram owned by @DogMan today does not have 45 year-old technology even though the pickup truck was introduced in 1980.

Think man. You are not a goddam woman.

On Jan. 21, Trump said that before he’d finished the "first full business day" of his second term, the U.S. had "already secured nearly $3 trillion of new investments." That $3 trillion didn't materialise and Trump has been lying and exaggerating numbers ever since. So I am sure this China jet deal is more BS. Cheers and happy weekend

China will turn them into bombers to attack America with.
swirlie · 31-35, F
No, but China did order 150 jets from Canada's Bombardier in Quebec. Boeing is proving itself to be an unreliable company when it comes to quality control in their jet market.

@swirlie Thats good news to my Canadian ears. Cheers and happy weekend

According to Boeing's website they have over 6800 jet orders in process. I don't know if an order of only 200 from China is really good news.

@MoveAlong If you were to order 200 jets today, the delivery time would likely span 6 to 10 years depending on the specific model and existing backlog.Because Boeing builds aircraft in "slots," a large order of 200 planes is never delivered all at once; instead, they are spaced out over several years to match the airline's growth and Boeing's manufacturing capacity.
They might do so. But this Reuters article puts the number in context.

Boeing shares drop 4% after Trump announces China orders just 200 jets
⦿ Boeing shares fall more than 4%
⦿ Sources said Trump, Beijing had discussed 500 jets
⦿ China's last major Boeing order was in 2017
⦿ Airbus has outpaced Boeing in Chinese deliveries since 2018

Shocking as it may be, Boeing did not add any orders. Not a peep about it in the home paper, the Seattle Times.

In that, why did you comment? Fun things watching MAGAs tripping over their own missed logic.
