Reuters/Ipsos: Trump's Overall Approval Rating Falls to 36%...How Low Can He Go?

According to the latest Reuters/Ipsos political poll trump's overall approval has fallen to 36% and only 29% approve of his handling of the economy.

It appears a significant number of the morons who helped elect him have jumped ship.

November is approaching fast. His party is going to lose bigly if he doesn't manage to cancel the elections. I don't think he can suppress enough of the vote to save his party.

Lowest recorded approval ratings
Here are some of the worst modern examples (using Gallup data):
Harry Truman — 22% (1952)
Richard Nixon — 24% (during Watergate scandal)
George W. Bush — 25% (2008, Iraq War + financial crisis)
Donald Trump — 34% (lowest Gallup point)
Why it rarely drops below ~20–25%
Roughly 20–30% of voters consistently identify strongly with one party
That group tends to stick with “their” president almost no matter what
So approval ratings have a kind of real-world floor
Bottom line
Theoretical minimum: 0%
Realistic minimum (modern U.S.): about 20–25%

@MoveAlong Yes, you are correct, He will.be in office until.January 2029, so get used to it and try to do something constructive and not divisive

Thanks for the advice Oh Wise One.

Please share some examples of your constructiveness so we may follow in your footsteps.
"it was a random, unbiased poll of people of old white people who protested in the 60s and are protesting ICE in Minneapolis today..."

It was recently uncovered that Russia (i.e. Putin) wanted the United States (i.e tRUMP’s) help to interfere in Hungary’s upcoming elections by staging an unsuccessful assassination plot on Orban.

The proposed reasoning is that this would generate sympathy in voters for Orban.

However, Orban is wildly unpopular. I am wondering if the real strategy is to give Orban a plausible reason to cancel or at least delay the elections.

Remember the “assassination attempt” on tRUMP in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024? See a possible pattern…?

His party is going to lose bigly if he doesn't manage to cancel the elections.

But the country will lose bigly if we see the typical 40% midterm turnout driven by those who can't take the five freaking minutes to check some boxes. There is that.

@KunsanVeteran Thanks but polls this far out don't hold a lot of weight for me. Apathy is real. And if we get close and "the polls" are saying a Blue Wave that means people will stay home. We've got a long way to go. We'll see.
@Ynotisay The poll results reflect the polled individuals personal weighing of numerous variables as well as other factors such as the apathy you describe, current events, etc. However, there is enough correlation that historical trends can be used to make projections.

The interesting thing is how large of a drop off of support among independents and Republicans for Demented Donnie. He is under water for a number of reasons and these converge to point to a high likelihood that there will be a Republican bloodbath in November. That could change, certainly…

But another sign of Demented Donnie’s desperation is how hard he is fighting to get the “Save Act” passed and how much he is threatening to cancel the midterms.

@KunsanVeteran This is based on over 700 polls as produced by the NYT.
But you know what? It means nothing. Voting is ALL that matters right now.
Given the fact that we live in a country where half read below a 6th grade level, I have zero confidence of this translating to Democrats controlling Congress. We'll see.

Convivial · 26-30, F
I don't think we've seen anything yet about how low her can go😛
@Convivial Very interesting point!

Remember how Demented Donnie was bragging about how he would be cutting pharmaceutical prices by 300, 400, 1,000 %!!!

When his low IQ voters finally figure out that that was baloney maybe we’ll see—and be amazed!
Convivial · 26-30, F
@KunsanVeteran no, it just means you get the pharmaceutical for free, plus a bag of money🤗
@Convivial They probably would notice that the bag had no money; nor any “pharmaceuticals”…like the ones RFK, Jr, Pillow Addict, and Don, Jr crave…
LegendofPeza · 61-69, M
Doesn't matter , he's gonna cheat.
@LegendofPeza When does he not cheat?

Because if that actually happened, then that would be real news!
trollslayer · 51-55, M
Sad that it is that high.
ron122 · 41-45, M
And the polls also said Kumala was going to win big.🤣
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
@ron122 Thirty red legislative seats flipped to blue candidates vs. zero seats flipped to red candidates since January '25 may be the best indication of what is to come. Did you know that every one of those flips came in districts that trump won in '24? Some by double digits.

You're welcome.
ron122 · 41-45, M
@MoveAlong Good luck with that.
trollslayer · 51-55, M
@ron122 incel much?
Theyitis · 36-40, M
The political cartoonist for my local newspaper posted on Facebook, “Any poll showing President Trump’s approval rating below 65% is LYING!” LOL!
There’s a Blue Wave comin’
It’s comin’ real soon
And I’m not just whistling at the moon!
