Do you think Mr. Trump deserves the Nobel prize for his peace efforts?

I think the illegal strikes that he ordered on boats in the Caribbean ought to rule him out of the Nobel Peace prize for good.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@SunshineGirl Can you explain how something is "illegal" in "international waters"?

@SumKindaMunster What difference does the jurisdiction make? International waters are governed by treaties and maritime law, which can clearly be breached.

A fundamental tenet of maritime law is that you are obliged to.rescue anyone in distress, irrespective of nationality. Following one of those strikes the US navy thsnkfully did not neglect its higher ethical duty and rescued two men from the water.

@SunshineGirl So you support the drug cartels. Got it. You most likely support the illegal gang members also.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@ron122 I support the rule of law. When in doubt, it never lets you down.

Those illegal strikes may have resulted in the deaths of two innocent men.
carpediem · M
@SunshineGirl What does the law say about running drugs? Do I need to arrest those people in international waters and drag them into a US court? Did President Obama do that when he ordered 563 strikes, largely by drones, targeting Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen during his two terms and if not, were those strikes illegal as well?

I'll answer for you. President Obama went after groups that were designated by the US as terrorists. President Trump did the exactly the same thing. He went after designated terrorists. The reason you leftists now have your panties in a bunch is because it was President Trump. That's the ONLY reason.

Then I'm sure you would've supported the 'rule of law' when about a hundred years ago a man could've beat his wife with a stick with no legal repercussions, right?

Or when the US Supreme Court determined black people were property, right?

Just because its the law doesn't mean it's right.

Galveston island during Easter - hmmmm, I wonder what would've happened if kids had found this and opened it?

[media=https://youtu.be/vVYbWBeCW-s]
If a kid on Easter egg hunt had opened a wet package and touched the soaked cocaine inside, it would've leeched through the skin and he either would've gone straight to the emergency room or even had a heart attack and died. Forget about it if he had bit down on it thinking it was candy.

More washed ashore near SpaceX facilities near the border with Mexico where thousands of students party during Spring Break.

[media=https://youtu.be/cz75JtqwdII][media=https://youtu.be/ze2VNtASC9g]

If those students found it they most definitely would've opened and partied with so much cocaine. I figure they'd challenge each other until they got sick or even died on the way to the ER. Some more south of Houston where students also party on Spring Break.

But you don't seem to care about our kids. You care about defending criminal narco-terrorists flooding our country with drugs that kill people.

[media=https://youtu.be/JR4gYGWu1Eo]
I live along the Gulf of America and this happens often. Alot more than the national leftist news cares to report. Do you even care about protecting our children, or would you have taken a package home and sold it for million$ yourself?

I'm betting on the latter, NarcoGirl.

@SunshineGirl Probably many more. Trump has not provided any evidence as to who the victims were.

@SunshineGirl I must say I really wonder if he is gonna to order his ships and troops to attact Venezuela coast and inland.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@PatKirby You genuinely believe there is a moral equivalence between nineteenth century laws that treat some people as chattels, and twenty-first century laws that protect all people from indiscriminate murder?

Ok so it took this loooong for you to formulate an idea? If you moved any slower you'd be walking backwards.

Being disingenuous then gaslighting indicates it's self evident you dont care.
@SunshineGirl
the illegal strikes

Ahhh...the disclaimer..."illegal strikes." Funny how no one cites any actual law being violated. Just the standard leftist narrative that it's illegal...nothing more.

"The U.S. military strikes on alleged drug boats have been condemned by the UN as violations of international law, specifically regarding the use of lethal force, which is only permissible as a last resort against individuals posing an imminent threat to life."

Ooooo...you see, that imminent threat to human life is a real problem for the TDS crowd. Do you remember what happened after radical Islamists flew jets into the World Trade Center killing approx. 3,000 people? In last 4 years, drug cartels have killed more than 250,000 American citizens trafficking fentanyl alone.

If you wish to protest, I suggest motoring a small fishing boat off the coast of Venezuela with sternly worded signs that orange man is bad.

@PatKirby I responded on 30 October to a post you made on 29 October, including at least a 5 hour time lag 🤷‍♀

which is only permissible as a last resort against individuals posing an imminent threat to life."

I look forward to Trump defending his decision before an international tribunal.

Article 3 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that everyone "has the right to life, liberty, and security of person".

Article 6 of the International Covenant of Civil and Political Rights states that "every human being has the inherent right to life".

And the same principles are enshrined in the American Convention on Human Rights.

To misquote a favourite expression, drugs cartels do not kill people (or at least not the end consumer). Illegal use of narcotics, self-administered pain control, poor life choices, extreme inequality, and a general feeling of despair and helplessness kills people.
Avectoijesuismoi · 36-40
@SunshineGirl There is also maritime law if you are in international waters if the boats are not flagged by any recognised flagging authority technically they are "Pirates' as far as that goes they are then with their crew legitimate targets.
Personally I don't have an issue with drugs runners/dealers suffering a horrible death. I just hope the drugs don't cause any harm to the marine ecosystems.

It's the year 2075, and Sunspotgirl still awaiting the tribunal 🤣

Good to know you blame victims. So, if you get gang raped, we'll all know it was your fault for being foolish enough to walk alone at night, and dress provocatively. You know, poor life choices.

Oh look! Article 3 & 6 are just like it says on the Declaration of Independence
...certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

And you know what else they have in common? None are binding law.

Thanks for playing.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@BizSuitStacy The USA aligns itself with international conventions and treaties. If it consistently breaks international law through extra-judicial killings it erodes trust and respect and potentially makes it a target for bad actors. At the very least it has less moral standing to complain about "illegal immigration".

I was blaming no one, but pointing out facts. Another fun fact is that Trump claimed to be targeting shipments of fentanyl, when synthetic opioids are practically unknown in Venezuala or Colombia, where these boats originated from.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@Avectoijesuismoi Do you havr "an issue" with the likelihood that an innocent fisherman was killed as a result of Captain Haddock's act of terrorism?
@SunshineGirl
If it consistently breaks international law

Avectoijesuismoi · 36-40
@SunshineGirl The same ploy is being used in multiple locations big old ships are bought up as the transporter, then off the coast it is transferred onto fishing boats and brought ashore.
Have you been to the Carribean and seen what contraband the "harmless fishermen" smuggle there.
In fact there are thousands of "harmless fishermen" all over the world that smuggle contraband all the time.
One of the primary reasons is they cannot make a living out of just fishing anymore as the ocean has been over fished.

They even turned their hand to being "Taxi service" to assist people that wanted to go on holiday during COVID lockdowns.

A rendezvous with a friend's luxury yacht at sea and you were out and free.
There were still destinations that accepted luxury yachts and private jets tourism including the Carribean.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@Avectoijesuismoi There's a big difference between transporting narcotics and evading sales taxes.
Avectoijesuismoi · 36-40
@SunshineGirl Both are illegal and another activity is gun transport etc.
Try googling the " cocaine superhighway" and you will see what Trump is trying to impact on.
Whether you like it or not at least he has the guts to carry out the strikes.
