I've thought about that. I guess Vance would get sworn in as president. I really don't know if MAGA is purely a cult of personality or would they rally behind someone else.
In the States, does the death of the President trigger an immidiate election?

@JimboSaturn no, the vice president is immediately sworn in and serves the rest of the term. Johnson was sworn in on the plane right next to president Kennedy’s casket and served the term. However the current administration is so corrupt we can’t predict anything for sure and I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Vance killed Trump.

I don’t think they would give up the red hat syndrome of maga which is much like the support for tele-evangelism with much overlap. I do think it will be less popular overall.

@faery I think they are filled with such ill will, they would be at each other, trying to take power.

@JimboSaturn They are and they're already vying, but none will inherit the entire cult

It's an ideology not an organisation so cannot disband, but its followers would likely still continue along their merry way and find a new leader.

@FreddieUK A "unique character"... Certainly is that.
Others here perhaps more qualified as they are Americans after all, seem to think his dogma would continue, led by someome else, and perhaps in other ways but fundamentally similar.
The MAGA thing is just electioneering gloss but what matters more is the underlying ideology, and that undoubtedly chimed with very many Americans.

I think if he dies the Vice President takes over. Therefore, I think MAGA would continue more or less as is.

That, or go full religion around the Orange GodKing and await his second coming 😏

Yes. At this point, maga has devolved into a star-struck club for people with daddy issues and a craving to feel like they are hurting (not even owning, just hurting) the libs. J D Vance or whatever name he uses next isn't believable. Steve Bannon isn't credible. And Stephen Miller isn't viable... as a human being. Pedophile enthusiast & bucket kicker snowflake Cry-Baby-trump is taking all the cards with him.
