I'm betting on measles making a comeback first. Just look at the history of RFK Jr. and the deadly measles epidemic in Samoa in 2019.

@ChipmunkErnie Yep.There could be lots of diseases that make a comeback thanks to Trump and his health secretary pick. Cheers and happy weekend!

That would be completely within the realm of possibility.

Didn’t RFK say all vaccines were bs? That was him right?
Yea we’re gonna have *everything* come back.

@PalteseMalconFunch He also went to support an anti-measles vaccine program in Samoa back in 2019 -- a few months after he left a measles outbreak occurred and killed a couple dozen children.

Depends how many people he infects...

Does the Health Secretary really have that much power? He surely can't stop child vaccination programs?
TrashCat · M
@ninalanyon he will
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@TrashCat Are those things federal programs or decided by the states? Presumably each state could decide to continue with vaccinations even if it was originally a federal program.
I've just done a quick search and found that the US CDC says that state laws determine childhood vaccinations.
Surely stopping childhood vaccinations would require overturning state laws.

State vaccination requirements
State laws establish vaccination requirements for school children. These laws often apply not only to children attending public schools but also to those attending private schools and day care facilities. States may also require immunization of healthcare workers and of patients/residents of healthcare facilities.

They are always trying to scare people with some ailment.
I remember in 2010 or 11 when lupus made a cameo.

I'm sure big pharma are convening meetings to brand the next outbreak.
