Scared yet?

Former President Donald Trump and his allies are preparing for an aggressive expansion of his powers should he take back the White House.

That includes more power to crack down on immigration and overhaul the Justice Department to punish opponents.

Trump mocked fears about his authoritarianism tendencies at a Fox News town hall on Tuesday, stating he'd be a dictator only on "Day 1" so that he could close the border and start drilling.

I see it much differently. 1) clean up our government. 2) Enforce laws already on the books.
We don’t live in a democracy, we live in a democratic republic under the rule of law not mob rule.

@needsmilk808 Just like north korea, eh?

@sunsporter1649 Lol I thought I wrote constitutional republic not communist form of government. Do we no longer educate individuals on civics and history in our schools any more?

@needsmilk808 A Republic is a representative democracy. Why do I keep having to repeat this? Did an entire political party not graduate high school?
needsmilk808 · 56-60, M
@LordShadowfire yes correct, a representative democracy is a democratic republic. We elect our representatives through a democratic process.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@needsmilk808 Okay, see you agree it's just a democracy with extra steps. Good. We are on our way to educating everyone.

@LordShadowfire I do agree we are a representative democracy, there are significant differences however between a pure democracy and a representative democracy, there are people that would like this country to go in the direction of a pure democracy and I think we need to look to history. I read a lot about Roman history and the destruction of the senate. And the results created by democracy ( mob rule). We need some basic laws to curb the mob, and that’s what a constitutional republic and a constitution outlining some basic inalienable rights gives us.

History. Yes, good. Great place to start.
I read a lot about Roman history and the destruction of the senate.
Yes, so they could turn Rome into an absolute dictatorship with an emperor. I guess you didn't read far enough.
And the results created by democracy ( mob rule).
We need some basic laws to curb the mob...

Pick a lane, dude. You're either in favor of curbing people's rights or affirming them. Can't be both.
