What do you think is going to happen to Trump?

Do you think he'll be found guilty of the crimes he's being tried for and go to jail? Or do you think he'll be acquitted and be allowed to run for president again? And if he does get acquitted and does run again, do you think he'll win?

He’s going to be going to a federal prison and possibly a state prison for awhile although I’m not sure which sentence will kick in first. He’s also going to be wiped out financially as well and his donors will lose a lot of funds. Once he is sentenced and in holding there will be many more lawsuits and charges. He is unelectable as president of the USA at this point in time and in the future. His support is loud, but not in overwhelming numbers.

@sree251 first time you lost connection to the White House? In my lifetime alone, there have been five democratic presidents, and only two were not re-elected for a second term. I’m sure that should have given you enough time to get used to not being connected to the White House. To be fair, in that same time period, I’ve lived under 6 Republican presidents. I’m not interested in doing that again.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@RockerDad I don't mean me. I said that conservative Americans have lost connection to the White House. I have been watching this "of the people, by the people, for the people" shell game since I was in high school. I never understood the game, and never joined in.

I think he will be convicted in at least some of the cases. I don’t think much will come of the Manhattan case, but the stolen documents case is fairly cut and dry. Also, the 1/6 case in DC has a ton of evidence to back it up. Most of the witnesses who have testified so far are people from Trump’s inner circle, who were privy to everything that was going on and being said. The prosecutors know that they have to avoid even the appearance of bias, and that the whole country is watching everything they do, so they have been very careful and diligent in preparing the case, which is why it has taken so long. I think this case and the one getting ready to start in Georgia are the ones that are the most serious ones by far. The only thing I am a little confused by in the stolen documents case, is what Trump’s motive was in keeping the top secret documents. I assume he was trying to use the man as some kind of political leverage, but I’m not sure what that would have been.
@RockerDad Jared had as much access to the documents as Trump did.
RockerDad · M
@Pitchblue Jared was smarter, and more cautious though.
@RockerDad He didn't do a vey good job of covering his tracks. So why isn't Jared mentioned every time Trump's crimes are brought up? Maybe Jared was the smart one and he was one of the first to flip.

Trump conducted himself no different than any other President as the nation's chief executive. The only difference is that the other Presidents only had politicians in Congress going after them while in office. In Trump's case, there was no let up even after he left office. On top of that, he is being hunted down by the Executive Branch of Government of his successor, President Biden.

@JSul3 You are being melodramatic. Where do you live? China? Our cities are turned upside down by Occupy protestors since forever. Weekend shootings killing half a dozen people and wounding 50 to 60 are regular matters in American cities. And you are crying over Americans getting pissed off with Congress?
@sree251 That's not what the data says. But why let facts get in the way of your wonderful conspiracy theory??

JSul3 · 70-79
@sree251 I am in DFW area. Texas leads in infant mortality and has the highest number of uninsured citizens. The gov of this state doesn't care. He is too busy in human trafficking immigrants across the nation or putting saw blades on buoys and placing razor wire on the banks of the Rio Grande river.
Gun violence? LOL! His answer is no need for background checks or getting a license and training....just "go get yourself a gun and plenty of ammo!"

I see ZERO occupy protesters but I do see many people who hate having their freedoms taken away by the White Christian Authoritarian Fascists.
Corporalcolleague · 61-69, M
I think he will be convicted but see no jail time. The 14th amendment will be invoked and he will be disqualified from holding office again. Biden might actually step in and commute any sentence or even pardon him outright for the good of the country.

@sunsporter1649 they are in no way similar. Gore’s election ultimately came down to a difference of less than 1,500 votes in Florida. The Supreme Court ordered that the tabulation of the votes be stopped, and that was the end of it. It was nearly three weeks before we knew who had won the presidency. While obviously Gore was disappointed with the outcomes he accepted it. No riots, no fake electors,’no conspiracy to overturn the results of the election, and I seditious conspiracy. And why was that? Because Gore behaved like a normal functioning adult, not a corrupt thug without honor. I don’t know what the outcome will be, but I firmly believe that Trump and Rudy and John Eastman and the others deserve serious prison time. A crime was committed, one more serious than any crime against our democracy that has occurred in our country’s history. It’s not excusable, or acceptable, or subject to interpretation.

@RockerDad Of course not, it was demonocrats protesting the outcome of an elektion, which is permitted under The Constitution

He will probably be convicted, wrongly, in 95% Democrat D.C. He cannot get a fair trial there. The charges in Georgia should be dismissed for judicial misconduct, but they will not. Some of the GA charges are comedic gold. Among the many charges, Trump is charged with impersonating himself (a public official) and asking Americans to watch Newsmax and Fox News instead of CNN and MSNBC. Since Trump has been indicted for not accepting the 2020 election results, shouldn't HRC and Al Gore be in jail? They both contested their defeats, with Gore taking his case all the way to the SCOTUS. They still claim they won. Why are they free? Because they are Democrats. Rules for thee, but not for me.
StrictSouthernHOH · 46-50, M
@JSul3 Yes. Many of the acts or counts were redundant. Most require jurors to be mind readers, since they are based on Trump's alleged thoughts or beliefs. On other counts, Trump is charged with exercising his first amendment constitutional rights.
JSul3 · 70-79
@StrictSouthernHOH You do not have the right to conspire to overturn an election.
sree251 · 41-45, M
@StrictSouthernHOH Of course, he will be convicted. This country would award $27 million to a thug for resisting arrest and punish the cop who tried to arrest him.
Majorsite · 61-69, M
Nothing but becoming the next President of the U.S.A. !
RockerDad · M
@Majorsite I don’t think he has the support to win in a general election, certainly couldn’t win a popular vote, which I admit isn’t necessary to win a general election. People will once again be stuck with two bad choices.

Idc ..i just want him to disappear off the earth forever
I think he'll be found guilty and get jail time, but he'll be remanded to some remote military base for custody rather than be mixed in with the regular prison population. This will also make it easier for his secret service detail to keep an eye on him.
RockerDad · M
@ElwoodBlues I think they have room at Super Max in Colorado.
JSul3 · 70-79
@ElwoodBlues Guantanamo has some rooms available.
PatKirby · M
No, and yes he'll run.
JSul3 · 70-79
It only takes 1 MAGA juror.
RockerDad · M
@JSul3 he will be facing 4 separate cases, all with multiple felony charges, 3 of the four cases are really serious charges, and there is a ton of solid evidence against him. The chances of him getting through all of those unscathed are pretty low I think.
JSul3 · 70-79
@RockerDad Hope you are correct.
