So I read a claim that Bragg is “stalling” Trump’s trial until January 2024

It was of course from a disreputable source, so I don’t buy it, but is it refutable? I mean, I imagine it’s just that the legal process, which neither I nor the vast majority of Americans understand, takes time, which broad ignorance Trump supporters would use to their advantage and say, “Oh yeah, likely story. How can you not see that this is a nakedly political witch hunt?”

Is there a more solid explanation?

What Trump did that was illegal was he paid Stormy Daniels hush money to stay quiet about the affair they had, then he put it down as a campaign contribution on his taxes so he would get a deduction. Trump's 34 felonies are for falsifying business records. Why would he do that? Doesn't matter! it's a crime!!

Trump's affair with Stormy was not against the law. Hush money "settlements" aren't necessarily against the law. BUT.

Falsifying business records IS against the law. What Trump failed to learn from Nixon is this: it ain't the crime, it's the COVERUP!!!
