Who was a better president: Obama or Trump?

Top | New | Old
As a Republican, I can honestly say why Obama policies might not of been great (in my opinion), Trump has been clearly horrible and I don't think it's up for debate.

People complain that the Democrats are the tax and spend party, but what has Trump done? He's tariff and spend... and what are tariffs? A type of tax... So Donald Trump has basically been a Democrat except without all the redeeming qualities of a normal standard democrat of helping others, as Trump spending has gone to giving those that make more than $400,000 per year tax breaks, when they're the ones that least need tax breaks... he's just helping himself not the people.

And under Trump, Congress is so afraid of him that they haven't gotten nothing done. So they're trying to get nothing done unless directly demanded by Trump.

Plus, Trump administration has basically had a record number of executive orders and record number of laws being broken and told by the courts their actions are illegal, plus Trump people are actively ignoring the records laws by illegally using non-approved forms of communication and deleting said communications, which is the same thing Hillary did, which he supposedly wanted to lock her up over, but they're actively doing it.

Plus Trump promised to release all the Jeffrey Epstein, now that we find out he's in it, he's doing everything in his power to keep it all hidden.

Not saying Obama or especially his policies were good, but Obama has been one of the best recent Presidents as the bar is shockingly too low.
@sstronaut Yet you doubtless still voted for Trump a second time, despite the warning signs.

@sstronaut How is what I said hateful? I’ve ever hated anyone, but you must clearly hate yourself for voting Trump by overreacting like that

It's a question not easily answered when a President is currently in office.

It often requires looking back after they leave office when you can reflect on where you are now compared to where you were at the time.

Don't you think ?

@Picklebobble2 Normally I'd agree with that original answers of yours, but the current President administration has broken the law so often that this is clearly an exception.

No contest. Obama.

Now, I'll be honest, I had my doubts after his first term, but he really came into his own in the second term.
Obama, definitely. And would’ve been able to accomplish even more had he not had to deal with the racists who would ultimately support Trump.

What does "better" mean, in this context?
Does it mean "Who is/was more successful in accomplishing his goals"?
I would think that DT was (and still is) much "better" at that.
Unfortunately 😕
MrAverage1965 · 61-69, M
@helenS But who's goals were better for the majority of the electorate?
Unquestioned · 70-79, M
So far Obama, but only just.

I still have reservations about Trump, it's hard to tell what he is up to.

@OriginalNedKelly Because he had served 2 terms, and no one with a brain wanted Hillary as president.
@Unquestioned Well, I cannot argue with those facts

Will ,I get beat up if I say I don't like either?

Obama because he can beatbox
boudinMan · 61-69, M
well, obama deported way more illegals than trump, so we'll see.
@boudinMan With the caveat that they get their day in court.
boudinMan · 61-69, M
@wishforthenight did all illegals get their day in court under obama?
@boudinMan No idea, but I know some did. Under Trump, no one is.
