I try to. When someone hurts me I won't go out of my way for them though.

No. I used to, but I’ve determined that, as much as I may want to stay kind, kindness is rarely rewarded with kindness in turn. There comes a point where you just have to be a quackhole right back and stand up for yourself.

I haven't always, no. I can certainly improve.
It's impossible to be one faceted and not ever react or show our natural emotions like a robot. I prefer it to be genuine not for reward or to be liked. Flattery isn't what kindness is to me and it's deeper than words.

But really, it depends. I don't go out of my way to be rude. Some days it's easier to be nice, other days it takes more effort.

I pay attention to the vulnerable. If someone is capable of defending themselves; I leave the options open.
