If money doesn't buy happiness why do we judge the success of nations by their GDPs?

And why do we measure liberty by the ability to amass wealth rather than by measuring the things someone can do without it?

i have lots to say but i'll just say that corporations pretty much rule the world at this point. you have to have a job to have healthcare usually, and basic things. that's mostly all, but some go crazy for it. people feel the need to compare with movie stars and try to live as comfortably as possible. it's relatable to want that, but this is not a sustained way of living for us, & war isn't the answer either, unless you want to live through the end of nuclear disasters and try to live in that place.
