what was a bigger deal - building a backyard clubhouse or a wooden go cart that had to be pushed with a broom handle?

I chose This_____________. Because I had a German immigrant father that survived World War Two as a child on his own in Eastern Germany. We were not allowed to waist any part of wood that could be used for something useful in the future. We had to sneak off into the woods and use natural growing trees and branches.

@WillaKissing Ah, don't be sad it just made life more explorative, and we may have raided scrap piles from construction sites that supplemented the secret forest forts!

I like the way you put that... you chose to honor/respect your father and others who survived the hell of WW2 by understanding why he thought the way he did. Of course, as an adventurous innovative kid you made the best of your situation.
