samueltyler2 The Russians carried out a multi-year breeding experiment with foxes trying to eventuate a totally tame one. They succeeded - the end product lost its bushy tail, its red color and its ears flopped. The foxes were not only more docile but they vied with one another for the affections of their handlers.
Funny you raised this point because a few days ago I had a post on animal choices for pets.
EDIT - not red foxes but silver foxes. Plus there were many other changes, too. Like the size and shape of their jaws.
