Ugh, sometimes I think they make tax so complicated to figure out because they WANT you to screw up 😒

Well, as a financial planner (of sorts), that's not really the case, but I can see why as an ordinary taxpayer you might feel that way. Certainly, the tax scheme can be simplified, but there are so many interests, many competing, that it would be nearly impossible to execute a truly simplified process.
