I love the sentiment of this post and agree with it.

I would define socialism is the collective ownership of the economy bully workers, not bosses. It's a theory of power as well as a theory of government.

The biggest disadvantage these days is that all these people are making claims about Socialism without even knowing what it really is. They used to teach a subject called CIVICS back when I was in school which taught you about government and it's different forms. These days people are just "parroting" the lies, myths and propaganda that they've been fed by all the anti socialist groups. These days most people don't even know the 3 branches of government and what the duties of those branches are!!!!

From an external point of view I think many Americans conflate socialism and communism... And the government, media and church certainly cruelled any chance of a rational debate during the 50d and 60s...

You just cut your approaches legs off. It is not the government responsibility to provide health care.
Everything you laid is government control of the masses. Yes that is indeed socialism and if you believe that's a good thing you need your head examined

The governments job is to keep order and provide defense. Not wipe your butt for you.
