Fun; humans are over populated btw! Did you know that? Also if TX or America wanted fewer terminations. Food credits for children free bus fare for mothers universal healthcare free babysitting. Simple. F'ing "conservative "Christains"

@exchrist Yeah it seems like they're not that smart though to figure out that free child care, health, better working hours leads to more children even with abortion legalized. Abortion is because each woman's experiences are different and sometimes they have to make that choice

What these conservatives do is just boss people around and think it's all good lol 😆

It doesn't matter who's right and who's wrong, it will end up like Educracy, the abortion wing will become extinct eventually.
@inaccessible Sadly, Texas laws might make Texas mothers extinct even faster. Women in Texas experienced a 56% rise in maternal mortality when Texas' new abortion law went into effect prior to Dobbs.

The new Texas law, SB 8, allows MANY more people to sue a doctor who provides that kind of care. It created an "open season" on doctors. Almost any busybody can sue a doctor under SB 8.

And what it found was a 56% rise in maternal mortality in the state of Texas from the year 2019 to 2022. That’s notable because it’s compared to just an 11% rise in maternal mortality nationwide in the same time period. And the time period is important because 2019 is our last glimpse of life before the pandemic. We know that the entire country saw a maternal mortality spike during the pandemic.

But the thing that was really different here: Texas stood out in that it had SB 8. And we know SB 8 passed an entire year before Dobbs. That was the biggest difference between Texas and the other states that did not see such a major rise in maternal mortality.

@ElwoodBlues
That report is politicall,not scientific report, and sure as hell biased. A scientific report will cover all basic questions, so for example, the mention a 56% as if half the moms/babbies died, no, that's an increase that sums up to 10 cases only. 10 out of 100,000. The report is also missing how many lives were spared because of banning the abortion, i bet it's more than 10, so again, Educracy, your only condolence is that according to the film, the smart got exticnt and the stupids ruled the earth 😁
@inaccessible My link was to a news report, but it contains a link to the scientific article with the data crunching.

And you're right, one of the key questions is the effect of the anti-abortion laws. So I'll ask you: has the Dobbs decision lowered the abortion rate? Or is it just creating a nation of scofflaws??

This data suggests not, but I'd like to see what data you have.

@Vin53 A kid with brain cancer was deported in the middle of her treatments, maga kills immigrant children. In this case she did live but the stress could have killed her.

I actually think I wrote on it and 50 to 80 year old magas said she shouldn't be illegal even though she wasn't. If that gives you an idea
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@sunsporter1649 A fetus isn't a baby.

But embryos and beginning fetuses don’t have any of these characteristics: so they aren’t persons. Since babies and children are persons, we shouldn’t think that embryos and beginning fetuses are babies or children. Likewise, even though embryos and beginning fetuses are “offspring” in a biological sense, that doesn’t mean they have the moral status of offspring who are persons or person-like.

https://bioethicstoday.org/blog/are-embryos-babies-and-children/#

Now, grieving people first need sympathy and support: they don’t need to be “argued” with, at least initially, if at all. But some people who suffer miscarriages grieve the loss of an expected future that depended on that fetus surviving: they can’t have a valuable-for-their-own-sake baby or child without an embryo and fetus, and so that makes them at least valuable-as-a-means towards that end. (This helps explain why murdering pregnant women is especially bad and why we’d have special laws against that, even if we don’t think that beginning fetuses are persons).

But this doesn’t mean that embryos and early fetuses really are babies or children. In this way of thinking, a miscarriage is a profound loss, but a loss of a potential future with a potential someone, not a loss of someone who currently exists. Seeing it this way is helpful for some people, and it might be true, too.
