I work part time at a Planned Parenthood location here in Minnesota. My Aunt is a provider there and has been for 20 years. I am proud of the work I do.
@hippyjoe1955 I acknowledge that you think that darling. You should adopt a few babies or embryos while you’re at it - keep ‘em in yer freezer like them fish🤓.
Anyone who suggests women should be forced to carry an unwanted growth within their body and expel it after nine months if they do not want to is a lunatic and should be in a psychiatric facility.
I'm glad I live in a country that lets me choose up to a reasonable stage, and not some fucked up place like America where complete nutters can force this on me.
@CrystalSkull Unlike Bible bashing shitholes like America.
What a disturbing place it must be where a woman can be told what to do with her body so they don't "murder" a "child", and yet people can also easily buy guns and simply shoot people because they had a bad day.
The USA must be such a fucked-up, backwards hellhole.
The seventy five percent of us who are pro choice really don't have representation in the government. Americans are dangerous and snide about failing at democracy.
@DeWayfarer you think I appreciate that giant bulls eye on the USA right now? We're earning it. Too bad being positive no matter what leads to endless poverty and endless wars.
I am proud too, thank you for helping women in need, sadly the people who like to scream murder seems like the most unaffected by unwanted pregnancies. I wish male contraception was more relevant and mainstream then unwanted pregnancies would also be less prevalent.
Pretty much on all social issues, I am very much on the left. On financial issues I am some what conservative. And on foreign policy, I am a libertarian.
In addition to the above, I believe religion should have no say in government. This last unfortunately isn't true for the vast majority of USA citizens, left or right.
The current bipolar attitudes of the majority, I simply can not agree with. Nature doesn't operate that way.
Nature is pro change in all things. And some day this issue will become irrelevant instead of divisive.
@gol979 so you would rather have a different organisation providing abortions?
Like this talking point is old and stupid. At the time planned parenthood was founded lots of scientists dipped their toes into eugenics which took its darkest turn in the Third Reich but is incomparable to todays reproductive healthcare.
@Gloomy so you are aware. And i agree, most historical people of power were aligned with the eugenics movement. I would hazard a guess that the eugenics society had to have a rebrand after the nazis were castigated for use of eugenics (incidently imported from uk/usa) and planned parenthood is a part of that rebranding imo
I'm sure bus drivers, pharmacists and execs belonging to firms that manufactur industrial tools are also proud of what they do. So why don't they feel the need to point that out? Maybe they don't feel they have anything to prove 🤔
