That's ridiculous! Guns and gun culture are heavily ingrained in American culture. If you choose not to participate in it, you don't have to. That's called freedom!

@Nitedoc Unfortunately you cannot "choose" not to be a victim of gun crime or be accidentally shot as a result of someone else's dispute. That in my book is enslavement to fear and disproportionate force.

@SunshineGirl no one asked for your book, scared move to Canada or England or somewhere where they don’t have guns
WowwGirl · 36-40, F
@Prison1203 😂😂
WowwGirl · 36-40, F
@Prison1203 he said keep your dang book😂
Prison1203 · 61-69, M
@WowwGirl that’s what I said basically
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
@SunshineGirl Then we should get get rid of all those cars and trucks on the road. Do you know how many people are killed in vehicle wrecks every year!? It's unbelievable!
WowwGirl · 36-40, F
@Prison1203 was great

@Nitedoc On the one hand you’re actually right, we would be better off by using public transport more. Much fewer Europeans than Americans are killed in automobile accidents every year, and it’s not because Americans drive more recklessly, they don’t. It’s simply because Americans drive more. The more you drive, the more chances you have of getting killed in an auto accident. We could live longer, happier lives by building our cities more compactly and relying more on public transport.
On the other hand, just because you want to restrict gun availability, it does not logically follow that you must want to ban automobiles. When used properly, cars and trucks provide the service of transportation, which benefits society. By contrast guns used properly still do nothing but kill people and animals.

That's why it's in the constitution
JPWhoo · 36-40, M
@Nitedoc I never said that. I’m trying to figure out what I said that made you think I was saying that. “Wanting to restrict gun availability” does not equate to “you can’t use a gun to protect yourself or your family.” I just think there are certain people (kids, mentally unstable people, etc.) that shouldn’t be able to get guns, and nobody but military needs an AR-15 as that’s a weapon of war.
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
@JPWhoo I fully agree with you that some people should not be allowed to have firearms. Identifying those people can be difficult and some people fall through the cracks in the system. We don't have to prove "need" in most places in Free America. If you want an AR-15 you can have one. There's nothing wrong with that. Although the AR-15 has been used in war, just like single shot rifles, bolt action rifles, lever action rifles, pump action shotguns have been used in war. These are considered outdated for modern warfare, and are seldom used in war. Machine guns, grenades, mortars, rocket's are much preferred in modern warfare for infantry men.

@JPWhoo the AR is a single shot gun just like any other gun it’s not a weapon of war , we cannot get a fully automatic weapon unless we have a federal firearms license and even then you open yourself up to searches of your home at any time day or night by the ATF and if said weapon is not in your possession when they come to look for it you go to jail without passing go and collecting $200 an AR used in war has select fire , single shot. 3 round bursts or fully automatic. Those cannot be bought by the general population. Maybe you should actually learn about something before you open your mouth and look like an idiot, I can shoot my pistol as fast as an ar and change magazines faster and shoot the same amount of bullets in the same period of time or even faster , AR’s are not used in as many mass shootings as the government leads you on to believe
