What’s your position on guns/gun control?

I live in UK so this us a UK viewpoint.

After the Dunblane massacre where 17 were killed (16 children). We outlawed hand guns. Since then never been a school mass shooting in UK.

Australia introduced gun controls after similar massacres and the stats there show significant reduction in mass murders.

So I support gun controls.

I see no reason why anyone outside of competition shooting on a range would need a handgun. It, to me, is not a defensive weapon. I have to shoot first, but they know that plus can I shoot first am I 100 % sure they will shoot? I'd hate to be in that position.

Honestly I think they should be banned.. too many mindless impulsive shootings. The likelihood of someone carrying out an act is much more likely if they have the tools at their disposal. If I had a gun tbh I would’ve killed myself on an impulse a long time ago.

Guns aren't inherently bad. Handguns for home/personal safety or a rifle for hunting is fine. But in neither situations do you need 50 caliber assault rifles, grenade launchers etc.

@NeloAngelo That’s where I stand, I mean I know most people who legally own assault rifles don’t use them maliciously but when it’s the weong people getting their hands on them that’s when it’s a problem. And agreed no one needs a grenade launcher

@SW-User I think they to need to have at least some level of control but I also think most gun owners are responsible you just have that portion of guys and girls who do stupid things with them

I believe we need a lot more education about guns and a lot more respect for them. They are a tool with the specific purpose of killing. But people treat them like toys or like symbols of masculinity or power. This guy says everything very well, but it can take a bit to get through the whole thing. Like an hour total.
