With a government shutdown, should Congress and Senators get paid while the people they are representing suffer? They have families to take care of.

I think the government should never be able to hold pay from these people. They use them as bargaining chips. But the politicians keep getting paid it's bullshit. As a Business owner if I don't pay my people I get itrouble,as I should. Why does the govt not get in trouble. Ps congress should not get paid

Pretty sure a couple of weeks ago Trump claimed that the TSA workers would be getting a pay check by the end of the week. Looks like that was just another lie. Cheers!

I've said for a long time, members of congress and senate should use the same means for salary, health care and retirement as the people they represent. And yes, if the government shuts down, their salary should as well. They may be a little more inclined to come to the table and work with one another than point fingers and walk away.
